Mason & Hamlin Concert Grand #11833

At 9’4" this piano is one of the largest pianos around (not to mention one
of the heaviest). The tail end is much wider than most concert grands, more
than 40", as though the intent had been to scale up a model BB in every
direction. The treble keyblock is over 8" wide. The lid requres two lid props.
Since it was built in 1901, it is previous to the introduction of the tension
resonator. This is one of those pianos where even the striking of one note
leaves you feeling as though you’ve done something important. Its strength
lies more in tone quality than in overwhelming power. The action is of
Wessell, Nickel and Gross design, with the M & H logo cast into the action
brackets.
