The pedals on this piano connect through a complicated set of extensions to the backs of the bass keys in the piano. The expense of hiring someone to provide the muscle power to pump up the church organ and the inconvenience of having to go out to practice made these popular. The pedals fold up into the case and below them appears the second set of sustain and soft pedals, for normal piano playing. It comes with an extra long bench to span the pedals.
